Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood

July '07 Excerpt from Plug LA Magazine, By Chad Rogers for PlugLADaily.com

Have you heard the saying, "Life's a beach!!!" It is a very expensive "beach" to my clients who lease every summer in Malibu, especially ones who set-up temporary residences behind the exclusive gates of the Colony. I'm talking in the range of $60,000 to $150,000 per month in the Summer, putting Malibu on the radar as the playground for the rich and obscenely famous... 4th of July is the day to hit Malibu and be part of the excitement. I like to hit up my clients BBQ's and chill out as the nighttime sky is being illuminated by bright lights... I can't wait to spend more time in Malibu this summer. My girlfriend can't resist checking out the latest styles at Planet Blue, and I can't resist getting full at Nobu, my favorite hang out. The yellow tail with jalapeno is amazing, but watch out 'cause it's HOT!!!!! And the white chocolate spring rolls with a side of caramel sauce are legally addicting. The Asian pear martini is a perfect compliment for people watching at Nobu, but most of the celebs are dressed down and unrecognizable. It all makes sense because Malibu is a place to just relax and be yourself. .. You should seek the advice of a real estate professional when looking for the perfect Malibu beach rental. You know that you can always count on Mr. Rogers at Hilton & Hyland to steer you in the right direction, and in the end you'll most likely be caught saying, "Life's a beach!!!" ...On another not, I just attended an event this past week for the Wellness Community. This is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free emotional support, education and hope for people with cancer as well as their loved ones. The event was held at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Malibu resident, Spiderman producer, and stage 3 breast cancer survivor Laura Ziskin was being honored. It fills my heart to see that Malibu residents like Lilly Tartikoff, Courtney Cox and David Arquette, came to support Laura Ziskin and this great organization. A good friend of mine and Malibu resident, Diane Shapiro passed away over a year ago from breast cancer. I miss you Diane... and finally, my adopted dolphin Gobbo is doing great with his buddies. Remember, anyone can adopt through the L.A. Dolphin Project.

It's a wonderful day in my neighborhood.
